Food Preparation

What will I study?

Units of Competency:

SITXFSA005 – Use hygienic practices for food safety (also known as SITSS00068 – Food Handling Skill Set)*

How will I study?

Study will be classroom based in the FLN classroom and kitchen

How long will I study for?

The course will run for 3 weeks, with a 4 - 7 hour class each Friday.  

You will be expected to do some self-study at home.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment will be a mix of practical observation and written work, like quizzes.

What will I recieve at the end?

On completion of the course, you will gain knowledge and skills in:

  • Safe food handling

  • ​

You will receive a statement of attainment for the unit.

How do I enrol?

All students who want to study at FLN will have to so a pre-assessment interview and assessment.  This is to work out your eligibility and capabilty. It will only take a few minutes.
