Fitzroy Neighbourhood House is a welcoming and accessible community hub within which the community gather.  Public housing residents, refugees and migrants, young people and the broader community learn and connect at Fitzroy Neighbourhood House through structured classes, community activities and events.

A small core team of five work with 60 volunteers and around 20 casual staff to deliver a broad and engaging program. Fitzroy Neighbourhood House is governed by a Board of Management – an active group of people who bring experience, professional expertise, and enthusiasm to ensuring the organisation operates smoothly, maximises its potential and successfully plans for a bright future.

EAL TEACHER

We are looking for a teacher passionate about teaching adults with little or no literacy in both English and their first language.

 

This is a casual position delivering our 2263VIC Course in EAL on a Monday.

Both experienced teachers and gradutaes are encouraged to apply.

MORNING TEA SUPPORT

Do you have time between 10am and 12noon during the week to help with our morning tea?

Tasks include: -

  • keeping coffee and tea supplies topped up,

  • heating up food already prepared or

  • assembling platters [eg cutting up fruit, preparing bread and dips, slicing cake...] 

  • cooking something if this is a skill you have.
