Fitzroy Neighbourhood House is a welcoming and accessible community hub within which the community gather. Public housing residents, refugees and migrants, young people and the broader community learn and connect at FLN through structured classes, community activities and events.

A small core team of four work with 60 volunteers and around 20 casual staff to deliver a broad and engaging program. Fitzroy Neighbourhood House is governed by a Board of Management – an active group of people who bring experience, professional expertise, and enthusiasm to ensuring the organisation operates smoothly, maximises its potential and successfully plans for a bright future.

GARDENING EDUCATOR
The Gardening Educator delivers a term based program that sparks curiosity about gardening and gets hands on at 140B Brunswick St.
​
The Gardening Educator will provide participants with the opportunity to develop gardening skills and to consider future training and employment options.

MORNING TEA SUPPORT
Do you have time between 10am and 12noon during the week to help with our morning tea?
​
Tasks include: -

keeping coffee and tea supplies topped up,
-
heating up food already prepared or
-
assembling platters [eg cutting up fruit, preparing bread and dips, slicing cake...]
-
cooking something if this is a skill you have.

CASTAWAYS LEAD VOLUNTEER
Fridays, 9.30 to 12.00
​
Tasks include: -
-
supporting participants with knitting and crochet projects.

maintaining class attendance sheet
-
organising set up and pack up.​
​
CHOIR ASSISTANT
Fridays, 1.00 - 3.30 in partnership with St Mary's House of Welcome.
​
Tasks include: -

maintaining class attendance sheet

supporting choir leader with distributing materials.

assisting with afternoon tea.
